Direct Debit Indemnity, am I legible?

Still curious whether you took out a new number or transferred your number by PAC because if you did, what P4U said "but as they said I am the only person who can cancel a contract" is not true. The contract terminates on the number change.
However the P4U explanation is hardly an excuse for not advising you better.0 -
It's the Direct Debit Guarantee ......... and the critical bit is that an error needs to have been made by the retailer or your Bank before it can be invoked.
As that isn't the case ..... you really need to ask o2 to be good enough to make a refund as you've been paying for an unused service?
I cancelled my SKY one year ago and my wife took it out instead. She got a free sky plus. Since then I have continued to pay €33 pm but we only copped 2 weeks ago that she was paying too (we don't read each others statements!!). Sky suggested I get my bank to refund under the DD scheme, but the Bank has refused twice. As this is a mistake by the retailer, whats my chances with the bank? Should I complain to Fin Serv Ombudsman and push the bank to refund? Sky are v difficult to deal with. FIRST POST Thanks in advance0 -
Regardless of whether the bank refund or not, the exact same will happen again next month, so you need to write a letter (don't phone) to Sky telling them they have being taking payment for a closed/cancelled account.0

Virtually non existent as you've let it run on a year. Your best chance is direct to Sky - but you need to clarify just how you 'cancelled'? And why you didn't kill the DD at the time.If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
