Penalty fare on Southeastern

Hello, two weeks ago i received a penalty fare on my way home from london. I accept that I forgot to buy a ticket and take it as a lesson learnt, but at this moment in time i am unable to pay the fare. it has to be paid by the 26th, but I won't have any money until the 3rd of april.
Any advice on how to go about things? it says that if i dont pay by the 26th then i will be taken to court. :undecided
I am also unable to phone them as I do not have my phone until the 3rd of april either.

- Email them? Try Googling for their 'contact us' page.
- Borrow from a friend or relative for a week?
- Send a post dated cheque and a begging letter explaining why.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes, I would concur that a post-dated cheque with a covering letter seems your best solution. They are not likely to take any action if they have your money even if results in a week's delay.0

They won't take you to court for being late by a few days, although they might add further charges to it. Best bet would be to either do as has been said, or simply call them (IRCAS?) and advise them.0

@OP - You should be aware that as a regular here Stigy has something of an "inside track" (terribly weak pun, sorry) in these matters and his guidance is likely to be on the money - even if he isn't blowing his own trumpet. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
