Hi everyone....I'm new to comping and am really enjoying reading the forums and hearing of everyone's win's. I just wanted to know if the winning e-mails are obvious?? Since starting comping, I have set up a separate e-mail account and get lots of e-mails each day. I tend to just breeze through each e-mail as they look like the usual e-mail newsletter and offer's, I'm worried, I may just miss my first WEM;);)
Will a winning one be any different?
Thanks for reading, sorry if I've posted in wrong thread!!

They usually start with "Congratulations" and quite often come with a person's name as the sender rather than just the company. They are all slightly different though. Hopefully you will see one for yourself soon!Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

I usually do a search via the 'search emails' box - I usually check on congratulations, winner and winners ... that has bought up the odd email which hasn't been obvious from the title so always worth a quick check x hopefully you'll have several soon and be a pro at spotting them

I've got a filter set on key words to help me find WEM's amongst all the other emails/newsletters/spam.. I've set it so that certain keywords are filtered and the emails are then 'starred' or you could move them to a new folder named 'potential wem's' etc.. Things like 'winner' 'congratulations' 'won' etc.. It helps as know to definately look at all my starred emails! But also agree that most wem's come from a persons name rather than a company name. Hope that helps!
Happy comping!I smile because I have absolutely no idea what's going on:dance:0 -
Just a quick note really. My service provider is BT. I only found out recently that any Spam (not junk mail as set up on Outlook etc) is held at BT Yahoo.com. Other SPs might have a similar set up. I log in with my email name & password & can see any spam that doesn't get sent through to Outlook. It is held in the spam folder for one month before being deleted. I have found a few winning e-mails from IPC mags (What's on TV, Pick Me Up/Look/Now) in there. Yesterday I found one which had been sent from the Ebay Fan Race.
I'm probably preaching to the converted but if it helps just one person then I haven't wasted any time at all.
Good luck all0 -
