Hi all
I put a complaint for miss sold PPI against my MBNA credit card, i got a letter dated 12th Jan saying they will respond within 28 days, anyway i had heard nothing so i rang them today to be told that they had sent a letter out to me 18th jan (which i never got) saying they had rejected it on the grounds of i signed into it.
they are going to send me out the letter again with the copy of the signed agreement.
The thing is i still believe i was miss sold it as i can honestly say i had no idea what i was or was not covered for etc.
I plan to appeal this via the ombudsman, do i really stand a chance though or should i just accept i have lost?
Thanks all
Chris

Wait until you get the rejection letter and see what it says, write back to them and reiterate the reasons you gave for mis sell, look here for reasons.

And tell them you reject the reasons they gave and ask them to reconsider.0 -

Hi Chris
See what it says on the letter when it arrives, you maybe able to write back to them with further information.
If that is a final decision then they must make you aware that you are eligible to complain to the FOS with the leaflet details on how to complain to them, but some have still reconsidered even if a final decision have been made, depending on what further information you may have to support your complaint.
Do they mean signing or ticking for the ppi i wonder?
We all have to sign agreements for the credit to be paid out, so wonder if they mean ticked for PPI?
If so check if it was bank pre-ticked.
Let us know what it says in the letter when it arrives and we can take it from there. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi again
I have received the paperwork from MBNA, and i have ticked the box saying id like PPI, and that i have understood the policy etc.
I know it looks like i have no case here and i may have just been stupid but i am still going to take this to the ombudsman.
What are the chances of me winning this when i have ticked the box do you think?
The reason i have ticked the box is it says in bold underneath it
"we strongly recommend that you consider payment protection cover"
So daft i know but i will have ticked this box to gurantee i get the card etc
Any advice is appreciated
thanks

That is a generic statement. It is not specific to you so it does not constitute a personal recommendation.i will have ticked this box to gurantee i get the card etc
You have provided no evidence that they led you to believe this was the case.0 -
so im sensing you dont think i have a case lol, still its worth a shot0
