Problems after power cuts on Friday night

Mortgage-free Glee!
I have got several appliances no longer working after power cuts on Friday/Saturday.
Anyone in a simialr position?

    Power cuts should not harm electrical appliances - but power surges will.

    There have been many cases of people trying to claim that a power cut has damaged an appliance; as far as I am aware these claims have never succeeded.
