in Techie Stuff
Hi all,
Im not very good with techie stuff but here goes.
My laptop comuter has stopped picking up my wireless router. I have tried to repair the connection and refresh the available network list but it still does not seem to find it. It has a built in wireless card. I have other computers and they are ok and pick the signal. Is there anything else I can do?
Thanks in advance

Is the built-in wireless card actually switched on? Sometimes it has a switch, and sometimes a function key combination i.e. Fn+F2:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Had the same problem with my daughters laptop, I tried everything. The other laptops in house and my main pc were fine, sat scratching my head for literally hours..... then I saw a little switch in the side of the case which says, disable/enable wireless....doh it was on disable. Felt such a fool.
Try looking for a switch.
Just a thought.

I have a Dell D600. No switch for the router. Just tried system restore but no luck. The symbols at the bottom (looks like 2 tv screens) Have a red cross next to them. A messa ge saying network cable is unpluged also appears. How do I check if the built in wireless card is on or off?
Thanks0 -
go to control panel, then Network Connectiosn, there will be a red cross against any that are disabled. Just double click the wireless one to enable if it has a red cross
Dells normall have a blue "FN" key on the bottom left and a wireless symbol on a key aat the top left, just hit both together to enable/disable the wirelessEx forum ambassador
