Freeview box problem

Hi all,
Hope someone can shed some light on this please.
I have a freeview box connected to a wall aerial socket downstairs and that's connected to a wireless extender to the TV in the bedroom. Until two days ago the remote worked fine and was communicating with the freeview box. I had a great picture and all was well. Suddenly the picture has gone but the channel listings are still showing when I change channels or enter the TV guide. No pictures on any of the channels.
I have checked the aerial connections and all seems well. Have tried re-scanning and searching for a firmware update but to no avail.
At wits end... any suggestions? Thanks

If the listings are current then there probably is no problem with the aerial.
Can you not connect the box directly to the TV and omit your wireless extender to test it, or take the box somewhere else and see if that works.0 -
Blank screen usually indicates a loose scart cable.0

Thanks all. The wireless extender works fine as I can control the freeview box with the remote from upstairs. I can get the TV guide up on screen and it shows which channel it's tuned to but no picture or sound. I think the box may have major issues and may need replacing. In deep...0

Do you have the box plugged into a tv downstairs. If it is just the box downstairs is your bedroom tv movable? Take it downstairs and try it straight onto the box. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Try unplugging the box from the mains and then plugging in again. I've found this often clears mysterious faults on my boxes.0
