How to find out if the property has gas supply point

Hi There,

I am planning to buy a property a semi detached 3 bedroom house. The currenty property owners are using electricity only. They have electric heating, boiler and cooker. They do not have gas. The vendor says that they have got gas point and if I want I can install gas central heating later. How do I check whether the property has gas supply/gas supply point or not. Is there any number I can contact.

How much it costs to get gas supply in the property if there is none at the moment.

The property has only night storage heaters and old electric boiler. How good is it and how efficient cost wise. Does it give heat round the clock. I want to know how much it cost to install Gas Central Heating + combi boiler.

As the property has no double glazing, how much it cost to install double glazing.

The property is a semi detached 3 bedroom house. Your kind advice and suggestions will be appreciated.

Thank you

How much it costs to get gas supply in the property if there is none at the moment. Depends on who you use to do it and on things like the distance from the gas line to the property etc. Various places can provide you with a quote (eg national grid, british gas, other utility companies)

This might be a useful starting point http://www.nationalgrid.com/uk/Gas/Connections/

Usually more expensive than using gas or than using a newer electric boiler. Do the property particulars not include an EPC (energy performance certificate)?

You'd need to get quotes from local registered trademen who would need to see the property to be able to advise.

Depends on how many windows amongst other things, again you would need to get a quote from local firms.

or "It costs nowt to be nice"
