Electoral Role Question

I have lived at my current address since 07/2004 and always been registered on the electoral role. However on my credit report it is showing as having been on the role from 10/2006, I haven't got a clue why?
When I apply for credit, I always put 07/2004 for how long I have lived at my address, as this when we moved in. Will this have a detrimental effect on my applications as the information on my credit file doesn't tally and would I benefit from just putting my date down as 10/2006 to match my file?
Or option B, doesn't it matter?
Thanks in advance

I don't believe it would matter much. But I would stick to putting the length of time at the address as the correct amount ie since 07/04.
1 because its correct and 2 because if you don't then this could show as inconsistent data to previous applications (from a national hunter search).
Why the date is incorrect could be a variety of different reasons, have you checked if all 3 credit ref agencies are incorrect or if its just one with the wrong electoral roll information?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
You should check with the council when they first listed you at that address. If it backs your assertion, contact the CRA to highlight their error and ask for it to be corrected - which is your right under the DPA.
Incidentally, it is the Electoral Roll (not Role).0 -
It is the same information and date with all 3 CRA's.
Thanks for that Buzby, it's not like me to miss that one, I hadn't even noticed I'd used the wrong roll.:o
I have been in receipt of Housing Benefit since 2004, when we moved in, so I will try and dig out the papers if I still have them, though I only keep 2 or 3 years worth of them. If I can tie that in I will check with the council why they only have me on the roll from 2006, as I know I have completed every electoral roll form.0
