What to use to paint electric box?

I have a electric box just outside the front door of my house, which has a roof. I've had to repaint it every year or so because the paint keeps peeling from the sun. Is there anything I can paint it with that will last for years and save me the money? My neighbour's never peels and looks good as new, sadly it was the previous owners that painted it so they don't know which product they used.
This is what needs to be painted:

I had some leftover masonary paint and used that (on something similar). Worked like a charm.0

I used gloss paint. Washed box down and painted two coats its still good as new 4 years later although I do give it a quick clean every now and then.
If it doesn't adhere try give it a rub down with fine sandpaper or wet n dry paper. You could use some undercoat which may help

You really need to remove any peeling paint as no paint will stay put over peeling paint for long. Then sand it, wash with some sugar soap, let it dry then prime and paint. I've found good preparation matters more than the paint really and being thorough with these steps has resulted in paint staying put and looking good for years, even on wooden windows.0

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Would the masonry paint be okay for the metal roofing? And because it's a metal and I'm not sure which type, is it still okay to sand?0

No masonry paint is only meant for masonry. Use gloss on wood, metal and some plastics. As said you need to make sure the surface is sound by scraping off old paint and possible sand down and or apply a primer/undercoat. You can get small tins from wilkos0

I suspect that masonry paint is designed to be thicker and is probably less flexible than paint intended for wood?0 -
you can use masonry paint on electric boxes , it will stay on better than u/c and gloss , otherwise use bedec multi surface paint http://bedec.co.uk/MSP%20COLOUR%20CARD-1.pdf0
