in Credit cards
Hi all,
I recently contacted Tesco Credit Card to see if they would lower my interest rate ( after hearing a friend get it down to 7.9% for 6 months while I was sat beside him making the call).
They refused even after going through to closures & after much arguing I decided to raise it as a complaint.
Over one month later I have still heard nothing from them so I called again today & after being transferred to their " complaints" line was left on hold for 40 minutes. I eventually hung up & sent them a snotty letter today demanding they address my comments & offer some redress for the shabby treatment.
What do you reckon they'll do?

You have a right to complain at being put on hold for 40 minutes. You have no cause for complaint that they will not reduce your interest rate.0

Different accounts, different agreements. You obviously didn't meet there criteria to offer a reduced interest rate and arguing wouldn't have got you anywhere.
But yes, 40 min is an inappropriate waiting time. Although I don't quite see why you waited upto 40 minutes. I personally would have hung up after 10 minutes.0 -
You might find they actually decide to increase your interest rate if they do a full review.
However i would complain about the wait.0
