Yep, thats me, glutton for punishment, if i have a good day at work i can always guarantee there will be a numpty on here !

By the way Chattychappy, years ago when i first started dealing with Section 75, it only covered UK purchases. It's been extended to foreign purchases in the last few years, think they had to revisit it once internet shopping got underway.

I don't think the law changed as such, but I think for a while nobody noticed it might apply to foreign transactions. The OFT formed the view that S75 did apply to foreign transactions but this was disputed by some banks who went to the High Court for a ruling. The High Court said that it didn't, but this was appealed to the Court of Appeal which said that it did apply and this was upheld by the House of Lords. There may have been some reservations, I can't remember but I'm pretty sure that S75 is as it was drafted in 1974.
