I can't say if this is true or not, but the person who told me used to work for Next and I've no reason to doubt it.

They reckon that the first sale slots go to customers who spend a certain amount outside of the sale slots. Then it goes to customers who meet certain spend/criteria.

Makes sense, I guess. Obviously it's all automated though so there will be people who spend loads at full price and never get an invite, and others who don't even have a directory and get a first slot.

I havent spent a penny last time and received VIP sale slot
this time I did spent and didnt get
it is just pot luck

Maybe. But I spend £100+ on non sale items from every directory, and I've never missed out on a first sale slot.

Doesnt look as though I have a slot. I got one last time and I dont get the Directory sent to me! Lol.

Oh and just seen the pics, sods law the coat I wanted to get my lo is in the sale no doubt it will sell out quick!

I dont' spend anything on my account outside of the sale and I cancelled my directory about a month ago and I still got the first VIP slot. I don't think they do have a criteria, it's pot luck.

i always spent at least 1000 plus most years when my kids were small, and always got A vip slot as they have gotten older and i dont spend as much its hit and miss if i get one.

i just checked my emails and i have received one. Strange, i do not buy much from Next, i just ordered a few things from the sale on monday and now this... They also have increased my credit from £200 to £1000 :S

My invite only arrived an hour ago. 9pm sale slot left on thursday, so for anyone who hasn't had one it may be worth checking again.

I didn't have a slot yesterday when I checked my account, have just checked my account again and I now have one from 9pm tomorrow. So it might be worth checking again if you didn't have one yesterday.
