I'm completely new to this so I don't know if it has already been covered but what is the best credit card to get if it's your first one?
I've just dropped out of university and have a part time job that pays well but I'll be starting a new uni course in September.
I just want to get a credit card so I can start a credit rating so I can move out with my boyfriend (I was told it helps to have a credit rating lol)
Please let me know any info/tips on this
Thanks

Hi
Have you had any credit products at all so far? (overdraft loans, phone contracts or similar - not including student loans)
First place to try is usually your own bank - if they don't have an earnings threshold that is higher than what you currently earn.
If your own bank won't let you have one then usually you need to start with a subprime card. See this link 'Bad Credit' Credit Cards
In terms of moving out with boyfriend - if you mean renting somewhere an a credit check for rent purposes then they cannot see that information anyway. The only information a rental agency sees is if you are on the electoral roll and whether you've had any CCJs or been in an IVA or been bankrupt/DRO.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
