Raise a complaint and after 8 weeks you can get it to the ombudsman. They get charged a fair fee for that referral, its shows on the industry complaint reports and affects their star ratings. So, inconvenience them!

FIT is all very new and some of these companies are still using systems over 30 years old. So, what you may find is that its a purely manual accounting task.

There is no excuse for the delays, and they are making money out of the delays, so raise complaints.

Perhaps Ofgem is required to investigate this?

Suggest having a read through the Standard Licence Conditions (SLC) in the supplier link on the Ofgem site.

Certainly the mandatory fit licence part states they should be paid quarterly. So, go through this and add any SLC breaches to your complaint.

There I was thinking only Eon was playing delaying tactics, have had my system up and running and reg.at 43p but all I get is sorry for delay we are going auto and it is taking some time it could be 45 days before you see any payment, that was 70 days ago.Had my system fitted since Oct 2011 and still no payment.
I do wonder if I had the free ones fitted, Eon would have there money by now. .

  • Has anyone taken npower to the small claims court over non-payment of FiTs?

I finally got letters on 17th October promising two payments within 5-10 days (two payments as, not unusually, they 'lost' two sets of paperwork and so were unable to process my first four month's reading until now). Forty days later and all I have is two letters promising payment which would appear to be an open and shut case of non-payment.

How come most e-commerce sites can process payments in seconds, yet npower take months? They know what a reasonable range is for your next reading, so if you submit it and it's within range they COULD despatch an electronic payment (or print a cheque) there and then. Of course it would only cost them about many months of interest .........
