Possible dual PPI reclaim?

A few years ago, when the whole PPI reclaim thing started, I employed my then boss to assist me in claiming it back. Because the bank involved insisted that any payment received went wholly towards legal costs, I forgot about it, and the PPI insurance itself was left intact so that I could claim on it if needed.
Now, a few years on, I have received a letter through the post from the bank stating that I have a PPI policy that may have been sold incorrectly (the same one referred to above) and that I could have my PPI "reviewed" if I wished to see if I could claim it back. Without thinking, I completed the form that they had sent and returned it.
What should I do now? Thanks.

If you were not mis sold this ppi, then retract the letter, if you were mis sold and want them to continue with the claim then wait for a response from the bank.
The bank do not take legal fees, this claim is free of charge, which bank is this?, i hope your Boss was not using a company to reclaim this ppi, if he did then the bank will write to the company and you will have to pay the fee.0 -

The bank was Northern Rock and my then boss was a solicitor dealing in PPI reclaiming. To the best of my knowledge, I think that it was missold as throughout the term of the loan (still running) my employment has always provided at least statutory sick pay and usually enhanced (work adds to ssp) sick pay.

Did your solicitor make the claim before? , if he did not then your claim is ok, if he made a claim originally then you need to let him and the bank know you are doing this yourself as the bank will inform him of your claim if you win redress, otherwise he will charge a fee.0 -
Was this account in arrears? if it was then your boss was right, he cannot claim this for you as any redress would go to the account and you would end up with a bill from him.0

just to let you know, if you have arrears with NR they give you the choice to have any redress paid to you or the account.0

All of the money that was originally paid out went to my boss as legal fees as it was a stipulation of them paying out. I am still paying on the loan, which has 3 years to run, is approximately £1k in arrears and the PPI is approximately £5k or thereabouts.
So I assume there will be no fee to my ex-boss as he was paid from the first payment, the arrears would be cleared and there would be a small payout if I was successful?Spare change tin in force this year!NRAM PPI : £6022.56 - WIN! :jLLOYDS PPI : £4684.66 - WIN! :jMy Pearl of Wisdom : Don't be scared to say "I can't afford it", or "I'm skint" to anything... Let's start again
.
When NR paid out before, did you get a breakdown of where the money went and what did they pay you back?, you need all the paperwork to see why this money went on legal fees, was this a mortgage ppi by any chance and was this taken to court and did your boss take his %?.0 -

When NR paid out before, it was for an unsecured loan. My legal representation was my exboss. It was not taken to Court, and a condition of NR paying out was that it went towards legal costs. Because of the amount of costs that had accumulated, all of the sum received from NR went towards legal costs/solicitor boss.
As far as payment towards my boss/legal fees is concerned, its all paid up. This is one reason why you should do a reclaim on your own, put the mis sell in as i said before.
The loan that you still owe on should have had the whole ppi taken off the balance, when you put the complaint to NR ask for the calculations on this loan, the ppi should not be on there.0
