BOS repayment letter query?

Options
I've agreed to pay BOS £100.00 a month to try get back on track with my payments, this is after i've sent them my finance sheets etc.

They've accepted my proposal and wrote to confirm it.

But on the bottom of the letter they've wrote:

'All automatically paid subscriptions (such as Sky, mobile phone) must be cancelled directly with the provider of the service and alternative arrangements to pay these bills should be made.'

This doesn't make sense to me, why am i not allowed to pay my phone bill with my bank account???

Because they've agreed a payment plan of £100 so you can reduce your debt to them by £100 a month. If you go spending money via continuous authorities, you won't reduce your debt by the amount they require.

And if you are in debt, you don't need Sky.

Because, as I'm sure you already know because I'm sure they must have written it in the letter, they have closed the account to further spending. This is an obvious move as you have told them that you are unable to make normal repayments of your existing debt.
  • So basically what they're saying is i don't need a mobile phone or Sky? The account they've stopped is my credit card, not my bank account.

No, they are saying that you can't use the credit card to pay for it.

Ah right, but I've never used my credit card to pay for it, that's always been a direct debit out of me bank account!

The statement on the letter must a generalised/default one, just in case you have any continous payment authority set up. So that there is no comeback to them when they bounce any payments and you get a late payment/non payment charg.
if you have not set up any continous payment authority then you need not worry.
