Good/bad parts of Southend and surrounding

Hey guys,

Posting from my phone here on behalf of a friend so apologies for not running a search first.

Good areas and bad areas in Southend and surrounding, 3 bedroom house, up to around £1,000pcm.

Any advice from locals?

Cheers,

Op.

Thorpe bay is nice. Steer clear of anything too close to the town centre.

We live in Eastwood as are lucky not to need a station. We are in the middle of Rayleigh and Southend are both nice places. Is it the town center that they need?
  • Lots of bedsits in Westcliffe. Southend itself (and Prittlewell) I am not keen on at all...Leigh on Sea is nicer. Rayleigh is very nice indeed but thats a good 6 miles from Southend. Very quaint.

Thorpe Bay is nice but very expensive...Shoeburyness is...welll...not so nice.

Depends on how old they are/what they are looking for/where they work etc. Do they need the train?

Houses are very cheap in Southend - £1000 will get you somewhere decent in Leigh on Sea, I would have thought.

I think walking distance to town centre would be preferable, walking distance to a station less important.

What about the area around Bournes Green Park? Southchurch, I'm assuming.
