The ones I mentioned above are approved up to 35db, they really are worth a try. And no, I don't work for them or sell them or anything like that. They just gave me the first decent night's sleep I'd had in years, so I'm a bit of an advocate!

I've tried them! I prefer wax. These are my favourite.

TBH, I've never found any earplug that will totally drown out snoring.

Neither have I sadly, the best I've found so far are called Quies, they are still only 35db but probably the best I've found. They are foam and unfortunately as I said earlier they make my ears sweat and itch which can be incredibly uncomfortable. I've tried wax ones as well with no great results.

Of course the ideal solution lies in a lump hammer but I dont think OH would be overly keen on that :p

I used to snore very badly and agreed to go to the docs as my wife was suffering. I was referred and eventually had an operation (Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty)...

    http://www.britishsnoring.co.uk/snoring_treatment/surgery_for_snoring/uvulopalatopharyngoplasty.php?PHPSESSID=74d6aa04d1462c9470b94eb06405bd31

For a while it stopped my snoring completely but as the skin has loosened up a bit I do snore again sometimes but my wife says its nowhere near as bad as before the op.

Funnily, I can't make an oinking noise like a pig which vibrates that area of the throat when you do it!! Only found this out when I was making farm animal noises for my youngest son one day after the op!!

I had this op too about 6 years ago, relief was about 3 months and i started snoring again :(

Another one in the same boat! It's really bad since he stopped smoking and put some weight on, but he is not massively overweight..
I have plugs when we go away, but cannot wear them all the time. Even after week on hols my ears hurt like hell!!
We now have separate bedrooms, just for the nights. Some people think it's weird to sleep separately, but trust me, it makes me much nicer person!! In prison serving murder sentence I would probably end up sleeping alone too, and anger management classes are expensive I hear!!:-))
