How do I do a screen grab. I would like to show my Nephew that I am using one of his excellent pics as my screen saver. How do I screen grab an image of my desktop ?

there is a key (usually to the right of the "f" keys on the top row) that says "Prt Sc". What I usually do, I press that then open a word document and then >edit >paste.
On my other laptop the Prt Sc key needs to be pressed with a "fn" key. It depends on the computer, but the basics are the same.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Yeah you will need to use the fn key if it is the top option on a button with two options, normally mini keyboards or laptops.[FONT=georgia, bookman old style, palatino linotype, book antiqua, palatino, trebuchet ms, helvetica, garamond, sans-serif, arial, verdana, avante garde, century gothic, comic sans ms, times, times new roman, serif]A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it

but that wouldnt work if you are using the picture as a screen saver (although you cant use pics as a screen saver...it has to be a moving or blank file) I guess you are on about the desktop background. on a desktop pc you can just press the print screen button (above the insert key) and the paste the img in mspaint or what ever you want to use (Ctrl+v will paste it)Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0

Try this utility.
It allows you to save a screen capture to your PC, but not sure how you then turn it into a screensaver
