Ebico is like the old days
you use your gas and leccy, get your bill and go and pay it within two weeks.
The likes of BG,Pgen,Npower have conned people into paying by monthly DD by saying it`s cheaper to do it that way
cheaper for who?
them of course!
I went with Ebico last year and have received two simple uncomplicated gas bills and two leccy bills
easy to read but
more importantly CORRECT billing.
Something Pgen couldn`t get right in 16 years.0 -

I agree - changed over to them for gas last summer and am in the process of changing to them for electricity at the moment. It is just so simple and straightforward, as you say bills that are correct and no messing about with your bank account.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -

Then why are the majority of cries for help/complaints on this board about trying to recoup money owed?
Quarterly billing in arrears prevents this happening in most cases.
wrt DDs
This thread is about Ebico, and you quite correctly pointed out that Ebico do not bribe people to pay by DD, as their prices have up to now been cheaper than others who do offer bribes.Cardew wrote:Sometimes you have a debit balance, sometimes you have a credit balance, and ideally they cancel each other out. However generally the Utility companies are owed far more than they owe.
e.g. BG has a most sophisticated estimating system which in general estimates within 10 units per quarter, ( the guy who designed it must have left, considering the current state of their computing sys). They are most likely to over-estimate to make sure they dont loose out. This was the case years ago, and suprisingly people ( obviously not MSEers) didn't object as they used it as a lossy savings method for holidays and Christmas.

Ebico, unlike the vast majority of the power suppliers,DO NOT bribe the switching comparison sites with cash incentives.
This is the reason why Ebico is very often missing from their lists.
These sites get an average of £50 for every customer they con into switching.
No wonder they never fail to find a better deal for the gullible!0
