for example, if somebody has been out of the country for 6 months and comes back without a job in place, but wants to rent a property with the view of getting a job asap.
if they have the money up front for 6 months rent, would the landlord have a problem with this or is it ok?

In answer to your question, it depends entirely on the landlord, doesn't it. Some would go for it, others wouldn't.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

As a landlord if you had six months rent in advance and a garantor then I wouldn't have a problem!0
