Hi
my bruv has telewest cabled broadband, t/west supplied router and 1 usb dongle for connection between 2 pc's.
Can I buy any old 2nd dongle to go with the above equipment or do I have to have exactly same make.

Any wireless laptop card, pci card or usb dongle should work![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

I've generally found that USB wireless adapters to be very blue screen prone.
I had a belkin one. Crashed like crazy (even with current drivers)
I have a 3com one. No blue screens but the PC (a different one) freezes.
I've tried something different recently
Belkin Wireless G Gaming adapter. Connects to the standard Networking port (if you have one) and uses USB only to provide power.
Instead of at least one crash a day I've two weeks of uninterupted computer use. Touch wood.
Hope this helps

the only way you can generate the code to connect to Telewests wireless router is by using their software that came with the wireless adapter , you need either a repalcement of the same make/model or get yourself a bundle with a router and usb dongle (telewest "lock" their routers, not found a way yet to get into their admin panel)Ex forum ambassador
