Arh hun, that's very kind of you to say so :o:o:o:o Alan has said that he is proud of the way I am dealing with things and that it makes it easier for him to deal with, but I am so proud of how he has accepted the cancer is terminal and is just getting on with things. I've said before, it really helps that we can talk about it all, the stoma bag, whether to have the chemo, whether the cancer is feeding on the abcess, etc including what I will do when I am left on my own - yes, we've talked a bit about that too. The only thing we haven't talked about is how it will be for him, and for me, near the end, but that is only because we are dealing with the 'now' at the moment and sorting out treatment, finances, etc - but the time will come, and we will face it .... together :D

Reminds me of me Mam - she used to eat dunked ginger snap sandwiches - that is dunked giner snaps in bread & butter, not dunked sarnies ;);) and she still loves her dunked biccies now :j

    God bless you both.

yes, there are certain rules for dunking that MUST be adhered to. With enough practice, you start to learn what can be dunked, for how long and how many times :j

ALWAYS abide by dunking etiquette! :p

    Note for self. 186......!

Could someone please PM me about the knives? I have a night off from here and all hell gets let loose!

Still got nearly 40 pages to catch up on!

    TIA :-)

Lol, I was thinking exactly the same, nearly caught up but if anyone can PM the details of the knives I would appreciate it, TIA.

I have noticed though that there are LOADS of new people posting, hope that they stay and don't disappear into lurkdom :T

Lovely that one of the originals is still here. Think Taxiphil was one of the first to take on Kevin and win:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  • I'm still catching up and only as far as this morning but wanted to ask some advice please from HappyChappy or anyone who knows about ipods.

My DD has an ipod classic - very retro apparently. :)

When it is fully charged and she plugs it into a speaker system it suddenly seems to lose all its power. This happened for a few days but she could still use it with a small speaker thing (we have one which looks like a lego brick) and it was also OK with small headphones but now that doesn't work either so it can't be used at all.

She took it into the Apple shop but they said it was such an old model that they couldn't really help so gave her a phone number to call.

Before we do that I thought I would ask you lovely, knowledgeable, helpful people here if you had any ideas.

    Many thanks.

PS We bought it refurbished from ebay but it has been fine for about a year.

Haven't posted here for a few weeks. Skim read as I missed about 200 pages!!
Sorry to hear about the FB Troll. Perhaps there's no need for me to read all the missing pages as they are requests for PM's!!

Thank you to whoever gave us the bread voucher. This was my first voucher that I printed. I printed it off at work as I don't have a working printer. However, I then photocopied a few extras. Are these useable in your opinion?? Also is there a way of just saving the voucher to your computer or do you have to save the whole 2 pages that the voucher came on?

I must invest (or try a dtd) on a printer. I feel I am missing out!!

You really are an inspiration to us all. Have you thought of setting up a blog to record your thoughts, experiences etc.? I think the strength you show in the way you handle each day would really help others cope with similar situations. I often reflect on your posts to help put my small problems into perspective.

    Big hugs to you both.
