Westie bought the iPad 3 the other day but I'm holding off until a few little bugs have been ironed out of it. You won't go wrong with the iPad 2. Just be sure to get a nice smart cover to protect the screen. Don't worry about the back of it as mine has been rubbed up against pens and coins and it's never marked.
