I read up online and apparently with a lexmark printer, there is something to do with a chip in the cartridge and if it doesn't recognise it then it won't work. The last lot I bought was a cheaper version but out of a computer shop. These ones were from a guy on ebay. He did refund my money though.

Regarding the £1 table...

On the 22nd of March 2012,due to a technical issue, a handful of products including this one were incorrectly priced at £1 on our website. This error was identified and corrected the same day.
