Halifax letter ruse to make you phone

This morning I received a letter with my Halifax Branch letterhead asking me to call about my account. They said that that had been unable to contact me.

Well this got us pretty concerned as we are retired, so are in much of the time, otherwise we have a BT answer phone.

When I called the number in the letter I was put through to something called Branch Support.

After all the usual security questions The proceeded to try to sell me their new Halifax credit card paying £5.00 per month incentive. We already have a better deal than that.

We thought the letter was about something to do with fraud or error on our account and were really concerned.

I tried the number twice more and each time a different girl answered. This is just a SCAM to get you to call them.

Waiting now for an apology.
