Hiya
I am planning to buy my sister's old iphone (an iphone 4) but she is on Vodaphone and I am on Orange.
I just want to be able to put my sim card in her phone! But I am guessing it is not that simple!!
Could anyone let me know how I go about (legitimately
) changing the phone so I can use it with my Orange Sim?
Thanks
Emma

It needs to be unlocked.
Try it as Vodafone used to provide sim-free mobiles so it may work.
If not, any High Street non-branded mobile shop will do it for a tenner or less or ask your sister to call Vodafone ask her to ask them to unblock it.0 -
Call Vodafone and they will normally unlock it for free as long as she has had the phone for a while. It takes a few days.0

Don't forget the iPhone 4 uses a micro SIM. You may need to trim your existing SIM to fit once you've confirmed it will work.0

You do have a SIM with included data ?
Assuming the answer is yes then Orange may be able to reprovide the smaller iPhone SIM for you without getting the snips out.0 -
Thanks for your help! I'll get my sister to phone Vodaphone and I'll contact Orange about my SIM.

Hi emmonk,
If your sister gets in touch with me, I will be able to unlock the phone for you.
She can contact me personally via the address here including WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject. If you could ask her to include a link to this post and a contact number, I will get in touch.
Many thanks,
Heidi
