Best BBQ coals / chips?

    I always use Weber BBQ charcoal briquettes as they tend to burn longer than the cheapo ones, plus when you've finished cooking you can easily reuse them next time round.

    FYI I tend to get all my Weber stuff from BBQs 2U.

    Where are they based? All I get is a USA based company

    Australian Heat Beads are good if you want to go for brickette type solutions otherwise you really want to get decent lumpwood. Google to see what some cheaper brickettes are made from and you'll never want to eat food cooked over it again - likewise the instant light etc.

    The Makro blue bags is surprisingly good. I used to be lucky and a local place used to make their own, mainly from fruit tree wood, which was fantastic but moved away from them years ago :(
