have you thought of the mini countryman much bigger than a normal mini and not bad boot space too,we have a diesel sd which is really lovely too drive.
I would have thought Mini Clubman Cooper D was the obvious first consideration. The Countryman is bigger but also heavier and I found it not as nippy when I tried one.
I need to think of something new here...

i wouldnt touch one of the hiddeous things even if nissan paid me and the fuel to put in it and drive it. in fact i just put a brick on the pedal release hand brake and have a laugh at it hitting the wall and looking marginly better afterwords.

civic would be my choice BMW 1 series have their problems as do civics.

Please read the preceding posts. It's called sarcasm.
  • If the Honda dealer won't offer a part ex go to a different dealer, plenty about after your business so if they won't jump through the hoops, move on. I still like the older civic more TBH, I just can get used to the 'modern' looks of the new one. Each to their own I suppose but not for me.

Funnily enough i am kinda half car hunting at the moment.

    The current contenders are..

    1)Peugeot 207 sw Hdi Allure
A lot of car for a little money and cheap to tax/run

    2) Honda Vtech civic 1.8 petrol manual hopefully in EX trim. Great value used examples, great styling, reliability

    3) Honda ST1300 Pan European...
    More excitement before i die..

Incidentally,i'd buy the Honda Civic over a BMW 1 series. I'd feel like a poor relation in the BMW 1 series and really,BMWs arent all they are cracked up to be.

    Ohh yessss........

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

How many miles do you drive each year? The general consensus is that diesel is only of benefit if you drive at least 12-15,000 miles a year.

In addition, if you are doing mainly short journeys around town, with lots of stop-start driving, then any diesel cars fitted with a particulate filter may have problems with it clogging up, unless you regularly give it enough time to burn off any built-up deposits. Having said that, I don't know if the Civic or 1 Series diesels are fitted with DPFs - just something to be aware of, if you do decide to go for a diesel.

I don't know what the current 1 Series is like, but I hope it's a big improvement on the previous one, which I always thought was very cramped inside.
