Reclaiming PPI for a Style Store Card

Hi there,
I'm just wondering if someone can point me in the right direction to see if I have a valid claim for reclaiming PPI on a store card. It was a Style Card.
It was taken out around 2000-2001. It definately had 'Style Care' insurance on it, which I was told as a student I would need to take or I wouldn't be successful in applying.
It is long since closed, although I cannot exactly remember when (found a statement for June 2006 but I think it MAY still have been open up to 2008).
Basically that one statement from 2006 is all the remaining paperwork I have left.
So really I'm just wondering where I go from here?
Is it worth chasing up?
Also what further info will I need to pursue a claim and where would I find it after all this time?
many thanks in advance!!!

This may be hard due to the year, give it a try though, look here for reasons for mis sell you need the card number, if any/all reasons apply to you then put a complaint in.

Thats great, thank you!
Well I was def told that without the 'Style Care' it would be unlikely that my application would be accepted, so maybe worth a try?
Is my card number my 'policy number'? As I have that on the statement I found.
Sorry, I'm a bit dense about stuff like this(hence the reasons I was a numpty and took out one of these cards in the first place!!)
Cheers!0 -
Yes,your card number is the policy number.0

Just wanted to say thank you!!!
That's a reply from RBS who now manage Style Store Cards offering me £205 :j.
Turns out the card was actually closed in 2004, so I'm very happy with this amount!!!
Thanks again for the help!!
(now to go and treat myself to some lovely new wheel bearings for the car)

Hi
Is this the address to claim PPI from the Style Store Card?
Thanks0 -
RBS have now taken over the historic liability. That is one of the addresses - although I think we received correspondence from the South Coast.
This was after PPI Qs sent to Style's address in Scotland were being returned undelivered.
My OH received a small payout last year, re a store card taken out in 1998 when she was a student. Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.0 -
Hi all, I started a claim for ppi in 2013/14 as I also had a Style card with Stylecare from back in 1999. I sent in an old statement as proof but the reply I got was "we couldn't find your account" so I basically believed them and left it.
This month however...yes 3/4 years later I thought I would try again ....i did it online with Resolver. Today I received a letter referring me back to the initial complaint saying there was no PPI. I phoned them just now and questioned what "stylecare" was that I paid each month and she said she didn't know but it isn't PPI. Do I give up now? 0 -
Thread is originally from 2012.
"Resolver" isn't a means to somehow resurrect rejected complaints from 2014.
Did you really expect a different answer to the one you received three years ago?0
