MPPI T& C Request
salty2006
We took out a new mortgage in 2006 and were advised to take MPPI. The mortage was solely in my husbands name who is and always was a contractor. I have wrote to Nationwide requesting the t&c using the template but they wrote back saying that it wasn't covered by Consumer Credit Act 1974. Can anyone advise me how I can get a copy of the relevant term and conditions.

Why are you asking for the t&c? MPPI is a standalone product and doesnt appear on any mortgage contract. So, even if the CCA did apply to mortgages, it wouldnt have told you anything.
What is it about the mortgage t&C that you think will aid you in your complaint?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Mortgages are not governed by the Consumer Credit Act 1974 but the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.
So Nationwide is correct.0 -
Nothing wrong with taking PPI for a mortgage.
What are you after? Mortgage terms and conditions? PPI policy documents? (if so the insurer will have them)0 -
What have the T&C got to do with reclaiming things (which this part of the forum is for)?0
