i saved for 6 months for a kobo reader and got sent a cheapy binatone which is half the price and not compatible for library use.
when i complained they told me they can send what they like.

i complained again but they dont reply

Thanks for warning people about this. That answers the question I posed a few pages back (will find my post and quote it below.) Absolutely appalling. The e-reader was described as a kobo for all those months when no-one had enough points to retrieve it. Then they switch it for a cheap one just at the point when people can finally get one! Terrible!

Can we bring this to Martin's attention and/or maybe get it featured on Watchdog? I'm sure lots of people will have had the same experience. (Mine hasn't arrived yet but I feared this would happen!)

I've had my eye on the kobo e-reader for a while, and I finally reached the required total of points this weekend. But when I logged on today, I noticed the description of the e-reader has changed, and now it's just called an "e-reader", with no mention of the brand.

I also noticed there's a disclaimer saying that they reserve the right to substitute another item, of similar value and purpose to the one in the picture. But since there's no indication of the value or brand of the one in the picture, that seems pretty meaningless! At least the kobo was a recognisable brand with a price that can be checked, so you could make an informed decision as to whether it was a better bet than just cashing in the points for a voucher.

I'm pretty sure it's been described as a kobo for the past few months, (anyone able to confirm this?) so it seems a bit cheeky if they've suddenly changed it to something else just at the point when people have finally acquired enough points to get one!
  • Hi
Was wondering if anyone could help me answer todays question?

'Please turn to the coffee break section in the middle of your paper. On the first page of coffee break in the '30 Second Challenge' what is the first number in the Beginner line?'

    many thanks

anyone know about the zavvi £5 voucher on front of todays mail, thanks

Everything seems staggered by one week, I don't know whether only 1500 points for a Zavvi voucher means you're restricted to the James Bond and Rod Stewart promotions that have appeared in the past three weeks, or whether it's a fiver off whatever you like which I'd definitely prefer.
  • Has anyone else noticed that they have increased the amount of points you have to collect for vouchers? I redeemed points for waitrose a couple of weeks ago and they cost me 2800 points they are now 3900 points! Same with the £5 vouchers you now have to collect 2000points! Very cheeky of them :/

It was never described as a kobo e reader, just an e reader. I know because I was saving for it myself until all the changes and I went for tesco card instead.
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)
