Thanks for that, JamesK10 as I never thought about expiry date so I will definitely check when I receive it. Wasn't sure what you meant about the 10 'extra papers' for the hundred points over four weeks though. We do buy Mon-Sat anyway but if you only normally buy the Saturday paper, then Mon-Fri gives you 50 points each week which would be 200 over 4 weeks but they also add on 50 bonus if you do input Mon-Fri numbers so that would give you 400 extra in total. Maybe I've picked you up wrong though. Hopefully the new system will work okay once everyone gets used to it.
You're welcome ailey and no you were right. Thanks for clarifying the bonus points, I didn't know whether the 50 bonus points were awarded on top of buying and entering codes Monday to Friday. Since it is, no wonder so many codes are getting torn off the back of the papers en masse.
In buying the odd extra weekday paper only, I've gone without the bonus and will return to the old schemes. Nectar's never changed except adding internet stores and partners giving points while Clubcard only varied the points multipliers, in 10+ years of operation. A change every six months on average is ridiculous from the DM and I have to vote with my wallet now (how I've changed my tune!).0 -
.
Thanks Pemberton01 - I've just gone into the Mail Rewards site to check and Tesco, as you say, give you the expiry date of 12 months but M&S doesn't unfortunately. I'll try to remember to post a message once I receive my voucher to let everyone know the expiry time.
Without wishing to step on your toes I have received a recent order for M & S and you receive an actual voucher from M & S (no mention of DM) and there is no expiry date on it.
Never ordered Tesco so not sure what you get.
I buy the DM every day including Sunday and have done for years so I see the Reward Club as my loyalty bonus and something for nothing.0 -

Don't worry about stepping on anyone's toes, Eager_Elephant. We're all here to help each other. That great to hear that it's a proper M&S voucher with no expiry date. Always good to know what other people receive. I just got an email from The Hut to say that my voucher has been despatched today.
We have a day off from papers on a Sunday so had to go out specially for it when the code was needed (well hubby did lol!) so this system is fairer for all. For those who buy the Sunday papers, their points will add up quicker over the year so that's good. Happy collecting now that the Daily Mail have sorted out their system for everyone."For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."0 -

Wonder when the catch on that you only have to buy 1 paper to get as many codes as you like, just click "My paper has no code", and you can tell all your mates (or duplicate accounts) the answers.0

Hi,
Just checked the Reward Shop, Odeon Cinema Tickets have gone up to 2700 reward points. They started at 1500, have only recently gone up to 2000 and now they are 2700!
I also noticed a £25 M & S voucer was 6800 and now 9500 !
It now works out cheaper to just buy 2 Odeon tickets (£8.80 for a standard 2D showing) which equates to £17.60 or £8.80 if purchased on an Orange Wednesday.
I worked out to obtain 2 reward Odeon tickets it would cost 5400 reward points and take 8 weeks (Mon-Fri -£2.75 ) + (Sat - £0.90p )+ (Sun - £1.50 )= £5.15 per week for 8 weeks = £41.20 that's enough for nearly 5 2d tickets!
Now alot of people may state well it's a reward when buying the paper, however I would rather have 5 tickets than 2 !
What do other people (Martin included) think?0 -
Odeon runs many different offers at the same time, one under O2 moments on smartphones as well as just Orange Wednesdays across all chains, plus the Premiere club card where you build up points to free 2D and 3D tickets and/or food.
So chances are they've just decided to make at least one of those promotions better value instead of the Daily Mail - and have also re-run the barcode printout 30% off campaign again this year which is instead of the Premiere points so you have to take your pick.
I didn't know they were another company increasing the points value for the same thing but that just leaves Waterstone's as new members, if their £5 vouchers are 2000 points as well I'll take my pick when I get my final voucher otherwise it can just go on Tesco as usual where their big stores have got more than just books.0 -
