It's a shame I missed the morning rant before you edited it :) but that's ridiculous if it's not made clear that for example, your card will be loaded with the right amount on top of what you started with or they'll send you another cardboard voucher only for the camera which you take to Argos. The T & Cs for the bigger rewards should be everywhere, the paper and the site as you log in, not just the FB page. It's a big assumption to make that Facebook is the first place everyone will go for info like that.

But you'll enjoy it this weekend where you can relax without that rush to get the paper :T no more slog!

Just guessing here but I suspect the Mail originally planned to have the camera in stock along with the other featured rewards but have perhaps run into supply problems, and the Argos / Flexecash deal is a quick fix to save face. Maybe the camera will be available on the rewards website by the time people have saved up the 3200 points. Anyway, my calculator was overheating as I tried to convert points>amount of codes>number of weeks per reward until I became thoroughly disillusioned with the whole thing.

Also guessing that, going by the technical issues on the launch weekend, the revamped website was rolled out before it was ready - maybe a rush job so they could pit it against the new Sun on Sunday? Facebook is ok for a quick update, but, as you say, important info needs to be on the rewards website itself now that it's up and running again.

Like you, I've been collecting since the scheme started and it was becoming a bind. I only buy newspapers for the offers as you can read most of them for free online - but I can see how that's exactly the sort of reader they don't want! Anyway - here's to freedom! Enjoy your weekends James! :)

Oh I will Gloria :) and I'm surprised at the number of Sunday codes going spare even though they're worth more, there must be plenty of people quitting for good, trying the Sun or reading nothing at all.

I'd have put up the paper's price again (to £1 on Saturday) than changed the scheme so drastically. Automatic points to Flexecash was actually a good idea to prevent cardboard tokens getting warped in the post, but they should've just said "this scheme is costing us more to run than when we started" and been honest instead of trying the spin-marketing approach.

they made a promise that with the switchover no one would lose out guaranteed.

before silver award 5 codes £5 pizza express they gave me 750 points for my one code I had at switch over time so if i add the points from 4 more papers 500(2 sat, 2 sun) then that should be 1250 points but they have it at 1500 points (250 too many)

before gold award 7 codes 2 course meal pizza express they gave me 750 points for my one code I had at switch over time so if i add the points from 6 more papers 750(3 sat, 3 sun) then that should be 1500 points but they have it at 2000 points (500 too many)

plus I am still waiting for them to send a 2 course meal from 24th jan
