determined_new_ms wrote: »Perni thanks for your thoughts on the shoes, duly noted. The problem is over the last 2 weeks I have spent £200 more than I should have done from my personal funds and also we have been dipping freely into the hoint account. So anything I can claw back I really should! The shoes I bought are lovely but really are work shoes and really I am after a pair of black flats that I can wear either to work or casually that don't look cheap! So definitely taking them back on my way to work... (sorry for the life story of the search for shoes there!)
I have the same shoe dilemma at the moment - need new work shoes.
Must go through my wardrobe first though as there may well be a pair or two of shoes with a bit of life left in them there.
Have loads of fancy shoes (not expensive, just going out-y) and I never go out. May consider Ebaying.
Having lost weight recently I also need to go through my wardrobe and find all the clothes I've now slimmed into. Shockingly, I know there are clothes with the tags still on.0 -

Hi everyone, I am a bit of a lurker here, have had a disastrous month so far money wise and need to be very very careful for the next two weeks. The combination of a garage bill, new school shoes for DS and a new element for my oven have put me £160 in the red. So unfair, why does it all come at once? I just need to work out whether I can recoup this from next month or whether I have to dip into my emergency fund.
So my tasks for the rest of the day are:
Work out April budget
Plant out the bargain violas I got from B&Q
Hoover downstairs
Bring in some wood for fire (heating is off and staying off)
Chase Play for the refund they have not paid me
Make curry for tea
Off to get another load of washing on the line now, bright and breezy so it should dry without the tumbler going on.
Have a good day everyone0 -
It amazes me how excited I get not to put the tumble drier on! Love breezy days!0

Afternoon all.
Today I have/will:- post one ebay sale - had to do a partial refund back to buyer as postage was way lower than I anticipated
- monitor other fleabay sales - not doing too well lately
- list some handmade cards on fleabay - just to give it a try - not very hopeful of selling them as they are not very fancy but who knows!
- make thank you cards
- make hubby's birthday card
- one load of washing on airer - to cold here to line dry today
- try and get work to tell me how much I will be paid on Friday for my last payday from them - need to budget but don't think the pay will be much at all due to repaying maternity pay
- bought a few bits from Wilko this morning but got quite a few on offer that were not showing on the shelves but went through on the receipt so that was a bonus
- check banks - not good but no more bills to pay until after Friday which is payday
- adjust to having to rely on hubby for cash now as technically unemployed even if it is by choice - sort of!
- check one poll
- take any suggestions for 'work at home' ideas
