USB Dongle to go wireless

Sure this must be a very simple Q. I have got my broadband provider to send me a wireless router and understand I will need to get a dongle to go into my USB slot in my admittedly old PC.
I have googled and there seem to be a lot of differnet ones. Can someone point me in the right direction - something on amazon would be good.
If its important to know the PC has windows XP
Thanks
If I can get the wireless to work I m going to treat myself to an IPAD

Hi
I'd recommend getting a usb dongle from Ebuyer, com. I have found dongles by Tenda as good as any and quite cheap too.
If your PC is a desktop, I'd opt for a wireless card rather than a dongle as you'll get better wireless reception.DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499

Despite what Espresso might think, it IS always best to maximise your routers potential. So if you have an N-rated router, get an N-rated adapter, G with G, etc...0

I'd say a card too, if you're confident in fitting it, or have someone else that could fit it.
If you're more looking for a test (ie if your desktop has wired net already) just go on ebay and look for a cheap one to try with. If your desktop does have wired, I'd recommend staying with wired with that.
Another way to just test it, is simply to invite other people around with wireless products, mobiles, ipads, tablets etc as they will be able to connect if it's all working.
Is it all passworded prior to you getting it? (Has the isp done the job for you, if not people here can help you get that sorted)
If you want to purchase a proper decent usb wireless dongle, then post what router you have (or if you know it's N, or G etc then look specifically for that)0
