Hi
I've got a few questions about surveys.
1) How much do they roughly cost
2) what kind is the best to get
and
3) where is the best place to fine one.
I live in Scotland.

depends on the value of the house. I paid 465 for a homebuyer report but that included the valuation the mortgage provider required:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

thanks, between 130-160k. The homes we have been looking at have home reports with then does this then play a part in what kind of survey i ask for?0

On a property at about £130k I've had quotes ranging from ~£200 to ~£375 for the Homebuyer's ... this will include a valuation I believe, although not one suitable for the mortgage lender's purposes.
I'm not sure if paying more gets you a better quality survey or whether you'd be foolishly paying extra for no additional service! (I'm FTB!)You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0 -

Hi Casslass, I'm a little confused if you're asking for the price of a homereport to sell your property or if you're buying in which case you don't need to get a survey done since the properties all come with a homereport (with some exceptions).
Your lender will want their own Mortgage Valuation Report carried out and will arrange this themselves (normally passing the cost on to you).
If you're selling a property you'll need a homereport and for a property of £140k-£160k you can expect to pay £150-350 depending on which surveying company you go with. You can call them and ask for quotes without obligation.
Cheers,
Tsu0
