America and clothes

I am off to America soon and have been told that you can get branded clothes at very cheap prices!!

I guess I would be most interested in jeans, jumpers e.t.c... Are they avaialble at normal High Street Shops or do you have to go looking for the best prices range e.t.c

Any Help would be most appreciated

You may want to check out this list of outlet centers for some ridiculously cheap deals!
  • We just got back - I got Levi's from Wal-Mart for $5 and $18, my husbands were $20. I got tops for the kids from Gap at $2, Nike trainers for $20. There are so many offers but go and get the discount booklets as well to save a few $$. It is cheap for Photo processing at Wal-Mart too.

We went to the Buena Vista Shopping outtlet and it was not a lot of good, Beltz is rubbish (IMO) and I have heard that Mall at Millenia is very snooty. I would give Premium Outlets a go and if you have no joy there go to Beuna Vista Outlets. Oh, and the Osh Kosh shop was fab if you have children!! They do not have high streets really, the main roads are where you will find the supermarkets (not like our supermarkets they sell overpriced stuff here like our 'corner shops' do, you need Wal-Mart or Target for our kind of Supermarket stuff), souviner shops or restaurants.

Don't bother with the 'supermarket' shops on the main roads or I Drive or the souvineir places- head straight off to Wal-Mart and stock up on things like drinks and snacks as well as Disney Souvineirs, you'll save an absolute fortune. we found it on the last day - I was gutted!! It depends on what you are looking for really.

    Have a great time.

PS. Did I mention on how cheap Wal-Mart is?? There are 2 on the 192 in Kissimee, one each eand, we went to the one at the far end by Marker 2 (I think), it was huge and even had car spares for sale and a kwik fit type garage. that was an eye opener!!

I too just got back from the U.S!! I learnt to take an empty suitable as 7 years ago I went to Florida and there was to much bargain stuff to buy! As blue monkey said go to Walmart!

I've just (last Saturday) come back from Philly and NYC! We found out the Delaware in Philly was TAX FREE! And with nearly $2 to the £1 we were laffing! Needless to say I brought 4 pairs of Timberland boots (from £25 to max £55 styles not in the UK) all from the same mall (varying shops) and 9 bits of footwear in total! Payless Shoes are like Brantano here I got 2 pairs for £14 (I've got large feet for girly so was a bargain!). Likewise I brought everything over there including underwear (as I said my case had 1 day of clothes so I was forced too!).

I was planning to go to the outlets, but found the malls so cheap due to the competition. Even iPods from Apple stores where cheaper due to no tax (in Philly).

Oh I did find that chain store prices did vary in different citys the more popluar the more expensive! Good luck have lots of fun! I can't wait to go back and do the same next year! :)

There are some Banana Republic outlet stores in the US, where you get very good quality at very low prices, worth searching for one near to where you will be going.

Dont forget that you are liable to pay Duty /Vat when you arrive back in the UK !!!! SO dont be bringing new cases through Customs and remove all labels and beat the clothes up a bit before you come back home ......
