In credit with rent, refund???

Im a fair wack in front with my rent. I pay a set amount everyweek (just in case). Can i request they pay it/some back?? Or does it need to stay "just in case".
PS talking 100's not 10's of pounds xxxx

    The question I have to ask is WHY.
    Why are you paying every week ?
    What does your tenancy agreement state ?
    Have you paid a deposit?
    Were you ever in arrers ?
    Are you claiming housing benefits ?
  • Just miss a payment (or part of) till its up to date.

    I would request a refund, the worse that can happen is they say no! Is it local authority/housing association or a private landlord? I am presuming the first, seeing as you pay weekly.

    Can you just not pay any rent for a month or so if they get awkward about the refund?

    Right;
    we get full HB, but didnt before i got DLA.
    I keep the standing order going as my OH is SE and income fluctuates.
    No deposit, never arrears, its a HA house. We owe CT due to a mix up (prob on my behalf) so kinda wanted to use rent credit to pay CT arrears if that makes sense x

    Hopefully HA will refund you easier than if it was a private landlord. Failing that switch the standing order to the council tax arrears until it's paid off.

    Personally in future I would be having the standing order going into a separate bank account of my own, so it's there if other halves income jumps up but still in my possession if it's not needed....but only if your good with your money!

    Cheers. Will ring them tomoz. Think the CT arrears (160) need sorting sooner rather than later. Hopefully they will sort somat. Thanks to me getting DLA i now get full benefit for the CT. If i explain everything was up in air they may swallow it (with regards to DLA and me being on sick for so long).
