Monitor Connection

My venerable desktop only has a D-Sub video output. But my CRT monitor is failing rapidly and a spare flatscreen I have been lent only has the following inputs:
DisplayPort; HDMI; DVI-I; S-Video; Composite; Component
Is there any way of marrying up one of these inputs to the D-Sub output of my video card?
Thanks in advance,
SP

Hi
DisplayPort is a connection devised to replace VGA etc. it is backwards compatible but you will need an adaptor. Try googling DisplayPort for further information.
Let me know how you get on.0 -
Figment: yes I saw that item but because it said DVI to VGA, wasn't sure whether it would work in the other direction ie. VGA to DVI, so held off getting it
Yorksboy: thanks, I'll do that
Thank you both for your lightning-quick replies. Thanks buttons will be pressed. ATB.

If you are planning to buy a new monitor you can still get VGA models but you might want to consider a dual input monitor to future proof your investment. If you need to spend upwards of £20 on an adaptor you are probably better off putting that towards a new VGA monitor ( or try Ebay for a much cheaper cable)0

"This cable is used to allow a DVI (with analogue output) graphics card to be connected to a VGA monitor or vice-versa."How do I add a signature?0 -
