Do employers have to continue paying into a old pension plan if the employee is moved over and continues himself to pay £50 a month in and the (previous) company matched it?

My pay continued as it was and holidays, but can't remember if it was in contract of if I even had a contract. But it was a company pension from the company I transferred from. I stopped paying when we moved over but just wondering whether I should have done now :-)0
