GAS/ ELEC meter reading and package deal?

Hi guys,

I am responsible for all the bills at my house.

I am with EON, both electricity and gas. Is this the best package atm? Also how easy/ difficult is it to switch?

Secondly How do I check how much gas/ electricty we use on a daily basis?

There are many E.ON packages. If there were one "best" package, everyone would be on it. A lot depends on your geographical location, the proportion of gas to electricity usage and various other things.

    Between E.ON packages? Easy.
To another provider? You need to be up to date with your bills and it should be quite straightforward.

Okay thanks sooo much and that was very easy to follow.

I've never read the meters before. I have 1 outside the house and 1 in the house. Do I just read the numbers on both and check after 24 hours again to work it out for the day?

    E.ON meter reading help here...
    http://www.eonenergy.com/FAQ/How-To-Read-Your-Meter/?WT.svl=4

Having said that other suppliers have more helpful help. In particular you need to convert the gas usage to kWhrs differently depending on whether the meter is metric or imperial.

    Hi myright

Just a quick heads up. Don't know how long you've been with us but there may be some info on your bills that might help.

There's a section called 'Key Facts' towards the end of the bill. This contains info about past usage.

If you've not been with us for long, please disregard this and follow the excellent advice already posted above.

    Hi myright

The info under 'Key Facts' is a summary of what you've used over the past 12 months, both daily and annually, in kWh.

There's also an estimation of what we expect you to use over the next 12 months. This is put in monetary terms and is based on past usage and your current prices. There's a calculation underneath to show how we've come to these figures.

Hope this helps myright. Give me a shout if I can help further as will be happy to do so.
