You can shop in M & S on the 3 for £10 deals which will give you 6 meals - 2 x salmon steaks, chicken breasts and other fish/meat. Add some fresh veg and pasta to your list and you should be able to manage really well on £20 to £25 per week for food shopping. This does take into account access to a freezer though and doesn't include any alcohol!
Orange do a phone deal - canary - with unlimited texts for free, 300 mins of calls and internet - for £7.50 per month. Add BBM and its another £5. This takes into account that you already have an unlocked phone.
Some Unis do allow you to pay your rent monthly by standing order - not all want to be paid in one go.
Ask in the student union about deals for bus passes etc. Some of the clubs have student nights with reduced entry and drinks.
You don't need an iphone - you want one! You can buy an unlocked blackberry from amazon for c£140 which will be perfectly o.k.
Oh and dump the slimming world membership. At Uni you do so much walking you'll be getting loads of exercise - and think how you could spend that £30!0 -
What about transport and books?
£40 per month for your phone is rediculous You are a student so should look into making savings where you can and this is one place that you could at least half your costs.0 -
Is your income 3600 + 6000 (parents) + 1800 DLA = £11400
Or
3600 + 2000 (parents) + 1800 DLA = £7400?"On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -
You can cut that right down. I used to pay £250 a month rent for a nice flat but it depends on where your stay in the country. Make sure you shop about for the best deal for broadband, leccy, gas etc. RecommendedBy.co.uk has them all and lets you share the discounts with your mates and earn some extra money.
Getting Sky Sports might not be the worst idea as it might cut down on the pub visits and expensive beers.0
