Hi,

I'm currently running a 3 year mortgage free challenge, where people had pledged to reduce or clear their mortgages in that time frame.

This is the Mortgage Free in Three - Take 2 challenge (MFiT-T2):

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1402631

For those who have not seen that thread before, charts are produced every 3 months and that challenge was a follow on to an earlier 3 year challenge by Dithering Dad / Tall Girl.

A question was posted yesterday - is there going to be a follow on challenge, in effect a mortgage free in three take 3 (MFiT-T3).

So, just a general question, would there be many people interested in a third three year challenge?

Don't need specific pledges just now, I'm just attempting to gauge interest.

It's likely that the challenge would run from December 2012 to December 2015, ie an immediate follow on from the current three year challenge.

Edit: Needed to have two voting options, but I'm just interested in the 'Yes' votes.

Poll doesn't close until 12th June - 6 months before December.

Thanks,
Financial Bliss.

Hi, I would also be interested in joining, I'm currently doing the 2012 MFW challenge, but it would be great to have a longer term goal.

Posted to "poll" thread and MFiT-T2.

I've spent much of the little free time I've had today "in" google docs.

I've cloned the MFiT-T2 charts and have been having a little play around with them.

I've some ideas, which would result in some extra up-front work, but less ongoing work.

I had a figure in mind of about 25 to 30 challengers below which may not be worth running a challenge. The little poll I started is already up to 15, so I suspect in the coming weeks, we may hit 25 or so.

No promises just yet, but watch this space as they say...

I am also doing the 2012 MFW Challenge, however would also be intertested in joining this, as a longer term goal :), as it will keep me motivated. I won't be able to pay off the mortgage, but hope to reduce it quite a bit.

I'd be interested too, although realistically MF is a ten-year goal for me - but a MFiT challenge would be good motivation along that road.

At present I'm projected to pay all mortgages off by Jan 2017. Now I'm compelled to do it by Dec 2015.

Damn you FB, damn you

The MFiT challenge has provided great motivation in my own quest to be mortgage free. While I wont be joining the next one as will be MF by then, I would encourage others who are seeking to be MF to join in and enjoy the support provided.
