Alliance&Leiscester Premier Direct Anniversary

Just noticed a £25 charge for 'going over my overdraft'. I checked my account to make sure I made no mistakes, called the customer service department who told me that on the anniversary of the premier direct account (with one year's £1000 interest free overdraft) they change the overdraft to £0 for one day which triggers the charge. They are refunding the money, but looks like you have to call up for this to be done! Wonder how many people don't notice and get this money stolen from them??!! Check your account and make sure you get your money back.
And I wonder if they do a credit check when they re-assess your overdraft??
