Does it have to be a bar code from a promotional pack? I have a multi pack of pepsi max here but no mention of this promotion on it.

With such a wide geographic spread I think it's safe to assume it'll not matter what code you use

I think if pepsi are really bothered about people buying the product to enter then they should have used unique codes on the ring pulls. Using barcodes seems a bit silly if they want to sell more pepsi as people could just copy the barcode down when shopping and not even buy it.
