When did Llyods start selling life with critical illness insurance policies?

    do you know if they sell it through another life company? Most big banks (HSBC, Santander, RBS) etc use life companies such as L&G, Aviva, Friends Life etc

    Going back to 1995, TSB had a tame life operation called TSB Life. Lloyds never had Lloyds Life, that was an old firm which was taken over and became Royal Heritage back in the 1980s.

    Lloyds Bank's tame outfit was Black Horse Life and TSB Life was amalgamated into this (IIRC) when they merged in 1996.

    LTSB later bought Scottish Widows and this became the tame life operation of the network. I'm not sure what happened to BHL. I guess it was absorbed into SW.

    To answer the question, I think TSB Life was issuing life and critical illness cover as far back as 1995, possibly earlier. I would imagine BHL was the same...
