Welsh Costume
Okay, so its that time of year again when I start obsessing about what DD is going to wear on 1st March. I dragged the costume out of the wardrobe earlier in the week and she looks like a total scruffbag. Problem is, the school are going to be on TV (S4C) on Thursday etc.. as it's the school's 60th anniversary, so I want her looking her best. Also, as she's in the nursery, if the local paper come calling then it's the little ones they photograph. Oh, and then after school I want to take her and DS to have their photo taken together.
Anyway, she's nearly 4 and I was just wondering what to put underneath the costume really as it's a skirt, jacket thing and white shawl - also should I get one of those paisley shawls and put the white shawl underneath. And do I get the pointy hat or cockleshell one. As I said, I do tend to obsess a bit (I'm also a nightmare in the run up to school photo time) but I'd just like some ideas. Roll on when she can just wear a rugby shirt!!!
Jxx

They are usually really cheap in Asda
I have a photo on my mantelpiece of all three of mine in costume ... aaaaaahh!de do-do-do, de dar-dar-dar0 -
We are at the rugby top stage thank goodness, but I used to put my DD's in a white long sleeve t-shirt as a top as the wool can be a bit itchy and I used to a wool shawl under the white cotton shawl. I think the bonnet hats look prettier.0

I was going to say put a plain white long sleeved top underneath
I think the cockle shell hats are cuter

My little girl won't let me obsess! I took her to Asda to look at the outfits - she wouldn't even entertain the thought of one, let along wear one. She said she'd prefer to wear a rugby shirt - so that's what she's ended up with. She's only just 4 and already very much a tomboy!DMP mutual support number 174Total debt now (April 10) £0! - total paid off £30,221 or 100%I'm now debt free after 6 years!!:jNon smoker since June 2006 :j0

Oh for the days when she'll wear a rugby shirt!! Anyway, I've bought some 75p long sleeved t-shirts in Asda today, except they're cream not white. Hmm. But if I get a paisley type shawl then maybe it won't look too bad. However I'll keep my eye out this week for a white long sleeved t-shirt (any tips?).
Mil did give me words of comfort yesterday when she said that all the little girls look lovely when they arrive at school (she's the cook at DD's school btw) but look like scarecrows within about five minutes. So at least DD won't be the only one!
