Tablet Ipad v Android v Blackberry

I'm considering buying a tablet but there is so much choice.

I'm swaying towards Ipad as I have an iphone so I'm used to the usability of it.

I'm not that much of an apple fan to blindly get an ipad though, but given the choice out there, I was hoping for some advice from learned folk on this site for pro's and cons of each brand.

Thanks for any advice.

Android tabs generally cheaper with similar or better specs to ipad.

    Blackberrys best to avoid.

Ipad or android such as galaxy, xoom etc would be my choice.

What are you looking to do with your tablet? I'd say the iPad is the best all-rounder tablet wise.

    surfing net and games mainly.

Have a three year old, so he would be likely to use from time to time.

I'm thinking ipad, just for familiarity and also to link with the phone.

I tinker about with stuff a fair bit, so the android would satisfy that side of me, but as it's going to be for the family, I probably won't mess about with rooting/jailbreaking, in case I brick it.

As you've mentioned games, its an iPad you're after for sure.

If you don't mind the lack of adobe flash and having to pay for some apps that are free on android go for the iPad. If you are looking at androids, then the Asus eee pad is really worth a look, you can also get it with the transformer that turns it into a netbook if needed.

Why? I have had a playbook since January and I am very pleased with it, lovely screen, many good media features.

The Playbook is one of the best tablets out there for its price range.

Fast, fluid OS, great screen and HD camera, very good support from both BB and dedicated forums.
I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Thanks folks. I'll probably go for an iPad.

I've had an android phone (htc desire hd) which was marketed as iPhone beater. I couldn't get away with it hence getting the iPhone. Pleased I have.

Suppose if I were to apply the same principle to tablets then I probably won't be disapointed with an iPad over an android version.

Apple stuff are slightly higher in price but the ease of use (particularly for rest of family) means its probably worth paying.
